Hey, I’m Emily!
I am a licensed clinical social worker from Austin, Texas.
Some of the populations I have worked with include individuals experiencing homelessness, youth in foster care, justice-involved youth, and adults in a community clinic setting. From these experiences, I have developed an approach that is extremely person-centered and I prioritize my role as an advocate to champion the needs of the individual regardless of their background.
I have also spent time doing mental health policy work for the state of Texas which has deeply influenced my understanding of systemic barriers to accessing support and informed the social justice lens I bring into all of my work. Whether the systemic barriers faced are rooted in family systems or social systems that have made healing a challenge, I am passionate about elevating my clients’ voices to prioritize their well-deserved opportunity to thrive.
As a therapist, I utilize a lot of imagery and symbolism, humor when appropriate (every spectrum of emotions is welcome in my sessions), and prioritize a deeply compassionate approach to all of my work. As a therapist, I promise to value your identity as an individual and the experiences you carry.

“And what affects you might not affect me,
And I might not be able to understand where you are coming from sometimes,
But I can be there to hear you when you feel like the entire world has forgotten your name.”
